How is the Karma Exchange Helping Society? The Karma Exchange was created with the philosophy that if we, as a business, provide something good for the users of the Internet, that the users of the Internet will in turn do something good for society. To that end, we have made the commitment that the Karma Exchange would not charge a fee to its members and that the exchange would generate revenue through Google Adsense exclusively.
Our policy is to share 50% of the net profits generated from advertising revenue on the Karma Exchange with a charity. What is the Karma Exchange Charity of RecordI first became involved with the YMCA when I graduated from highschool. The YMCA in my neighbourhood provided me with a safe and comfortable place to work out and become physically fit. In time I got to know the staff and volunteers at the "Y" and began volunteering, primarily with the Youth Leadership Development program. I was fortunate to work with the "Y" until the facility closed several years later. In a rather serendipitous coincidence, I ran into the former General Manager of the "Y" that I had worked at, while I was walking my dog. It had been over a decade since I had seen her, but we spoke as if only months had past. Over many Sundays we talked about the "Y" and what we were both doing. I described the Karma Exchange and what Sentias was trying to acheive with it. She loved the idea. Some things are meant to happen. It was at that point, that I decided that the charity of record for the Karma Exchange should be the YMCA. Why the Y?
